The exercise:

In a 'turnabout is fair play' deal, tonight's prompt is inspired by Greg's story, which was inspired by yesterday's prompt. And 'round and 'round we go...

The prompt: weapon of choice.

On that note, you should check out this video if you've never seen it before. Full. Of. Win.

Mine:

Victory is always within reach,
Even as they're storming up the beach.
Sure, their numbers are so much greater;
Defeat's coming sooner than later;
But before the first shot is fired
Peace stands ready, though she is tired,
To help both sides of your war to choose
Speech before violence... or all will lose.

Hmm, that video's not available here due to copyright restrictions. That's a shame :(

I like your poem, it's very good. The personification of Peace is rather nice.

I'm in a lot of a hurry, so this is going to be short.

Weapon of choice

Come gather round boys,
And meet 'Mouthy' Royce,
His weapon of choice,
Is his voice.

He can shout down a plane,
And kills again and again,
By screaming 'til your pain,
Melts your brain.

Weapons are not always made of metal ...

Weapon of Choice

In the beginning there was love,
and it was good.
Man and woman lived together in paradise,
not ashamed of their nakedness.

Then came the serpent,
who slithered and hissed,
beckoned, lured, enticed.
Promised.
Lied.

Worn proudly on her left hand,
the crimson bauble shone for all.
That plump red orb changed everything.

The apple begat the rules;
The rules begat the punishment;
The punishment begat the shouting;
The shouting begat the humiliation;
The humiliation begat the beating.

But the spirit of David grew within her, and
brandishing her sword,
she slew Goliath.
Nevermore to be a slave,
but to forever be a warrior.

Halleluiah.

Greg - that sucks! Stupid copyright crap. Ah well, if you manage to find it somewhere that allows you to see it, I suspect you'll enjoy it.

I don't think I'd like to meet Mouthy Royce at all.

Monica - that is a very powerful piece. I love the triumphant ending.
