The exercise:

The topic for your Four Line Friday Prose this week: career planning.

I had one of those 'Personal Development Plan' meetings at work on Wednesday.

*shudder*

Mine:

"What do you want to be when you grow up?"

"A best selling author!"

"I'm sorry, dear. That's not how you pronounce 'unemployed bum'."

Poor Marc! These uncreative types (and worse, the types who are jealous of creative types) will do everything they can to convince you that a career in accountancy is the only way forward.... You can always have you revenge by writing the person who organised the meeting into a story as a minor villain who meets an unpleasant end early on :)

Career planning

"Vince? What are you doing with that road map?"
"I didn't want to tell you mate, but the brakes on the car have been cut and we're coming up to a hill. We're about to lose control, so I'm career planning."

I like your revenge idea. Very much :)

Nah, they're not so bad to work for. It's just not the place that will let me achieve my literary dreams.

Nice take on career planning, by the by :)
