The exercise:

Four Line Friday Prose topic this week: trust.

Thank goodness for long weekends. I shall enjoy this one.

Mine:

I mentioned to Kat yesterday that I'm quite surprised that I trust my dentist so much after such a short period of time. I've had some pretty terrible dental experiences in the past, which is a big part of why I didn't go for so long, but I've been really impressed with this one. It really helped that Kat had been going to him for such a long time and recommended him so highly, but my own interactions with him and his staff have just taken my comfort and confidence levels to new heights.

It's a nice change.

I hope it's a good long weekend then! Anything fun planned, or are you just chillaxing?

I think good dentists are easy to trust quickly, and the fact that they don't fulfill your fears somehow speeds up that process. I'm much more relaxed at the dentist if I know they've not hurt me in the past :)

Trust

"Sewer crocs?" I looked around nervously. The sewer smelled floral with a persistent, slightly disturbing undertone of warm, rotting chicken. Dr. Monsanto disliked all miasmas and had chemicals added to the sewage to change its smell. It was pitch black beyond the circle of grey light coming from the small holes in the manhole cover above.
"Yeah, you'll just have to trust me that we can get past them," said Vince. He rummaged through his pockets.
"Trust you? Trust you! I trusted you to help me break into Dr. Monsanto's labs, and you turned up dressed as St. bloody Thomas of bloody India!"
Vince pulled a torch from his pocket with an aha and pressed the button on the side. It came on, emitting a beam of eerie green light.
"Oh dear crap...," I said feeling suddenly old and tired.
"You're actually frothing at the mouth, mate," said Vincent. "Seriously, you need to chillax a little, it's a tough world out there."
I didn't mean to punch him, but something in my autonomic nervous system took over and I swung hard and fast. I connected with his shoulder and staggered him a little.
"Careful mate, I could drop the torch. And then you wouldn't know about that sewer croc creeping up behind you."

Much chillaxin, perhaps some planning for NaNoWriMo, most likely some writing. Gonna be good :)

Ah, a continuation both of your story and your disregard of the rules! Excellent :)

I love how casually he mentions the approaching croc.
