The exercise:

Only two days of work left before my Christmas vacation. I'll be spending the holiday this year with Kat's family in Osoyoos and we're flying out on the 23rd, coming back on the 27th. I won't have internet access during that time so I'll have to get a few posts scheduled ahead of time.

But that will come later. Right now? Your four line poem prompt is: it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

Mine:

Every day feels like it's Friday,
No one listens to what I say.
"No work is getting done!" I shriek.
Next year Christmas will be all week.

Does this mean that you'll be knee-deep in snow this Christmas? I'm guessing there's no vegetables to harvest up in Osoyoos at this time of year :)
I'm staying in London, but there's lots of people around and I'll likely be busy too. Have a merry Christmas up there though!

Oh, and as for song requests for these prompts, how about "In the bleak midwinter"?

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

There's a slaughter of turkeys going on in the barn,
There's feathers and blood all over the floor,
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas,
And I'm dreading this holiday more and more.

Happy Yule to everyone!

The boss cracks the whip with all his might,
overtime ‘til nine, every single night;
anywhere you go, it's only Carols you hear...
no wonder everyone’s nuts this time of year!

Greg - well the forecast is calling for nothing but rain and sunshine in Osoyoos between now and Christmas so... doesn't look like it. But you never know!

That's an excellent song title for a prompt, I shall have to make use of it.

I also think I'm in need of adding some holiday spirit to the writing around here, haha. Nicely done, regardless though :)

Monica - heya! Happy holidays :)

And your poem makes a very valid point, to be sure. Let's all remember to sit down and take a deep breath or twenty, okay?
