The exercise:

Last night I put up the final two chapters of the first draft of A Fighting Chance over on Protagonize. It took a while, but I finally got there. Now the fun part awaits: the rewrites.

I'm not sure when I'll get started on it, as I definitely need to give it some mental space. I also have Lessons in the Dust (my NaNoWriMo novel) waiting on me, which I plan on tackling first. I'll let you know when I get started and how it goes.

Anyway, this week's Two Haiku Tuesday prompt is: satisfaction.

Mine:

Those two little words
Brought me so much joy I'll write
Them again: The End.

Job satisfaction
Has a unique meaning for
Crime scene cleanup crews.

Hee, I particularly like your first one. Second one's... interesting. Odd as it is, though, I rather like it.

And congrats again on finishing AFC on protag! First draft though it was, a first draft it did not seem. If you consider that rough, I can't begin to imagine how it'll be cleaned up and between two covers. ^^

Satisfaction

Oliver, Freddie,
Felix all soothe and comfort.
Practice=satisfaction

Any parallels?
Proper progression? All good?
Ah, t'finish theory!

Oliver as in the piano, Freddie as in the metranome, Felix as in Mendelssohn, theory as in music ~. Definitely not my best haikus, but they're practice, are they not?

Congratulations on finishing another novel! I definitely agree -- some mental space at the end of a piece of writing that large is valuable and necessary. I'd give it a couple of weeks before tackling any rewrites :)

I'm with g2 on this one: the second haiku, though odd, is a triumph! The first one's good too.

Satisfaction

I can't get no... no...
Stuck again! It seems there is
No satisfaction

Your every word
satisifies someone else. Do I
mean so little now?

g2 - thanks :)

And I suppose I consider it draft number 1.5, what with all the editing that's been done already.

Indeed they are practice and I quite like your first one :)

Greg - oh man, loving your first haiku. That just makes me happy :)
