The exercise:

It appears to be Two Haiku Tuesday again. Let us write about: falling.

It also appears that tomorrow marks two years in the life of Daily Writing Practice (I only noticed last night, to be honest). To celebrate the occasion I think I shall do... something that I've never done before!!!

Dun dun dun!

Tune in tomorrow to see what all the nonsense is about.

Mine:

Flying like a bird?
No, I'd say it's more like you're
Falling like a rock.

*     *     *

When the ground gives way
beneath my feet you catch me,
without fail. Thank you.

Two years! Well done! I'm looking forward to the celebrations already :)

I like your first one, but there's a tenderness to your second that can't be denied.

Falling

Boreas holds me
In his arms while I plummet
To my death below.

--------------

Falling in love is
Like volcanoes erupting.
Just unstoppable

For my husband:
I fell for you hard.
I saw you, I wanted you
Loving me just as much.

So many years now
My heart still flutters when
You walk in the room.

And Marc, congratulations on 2 years of this blog. Nice! And I really like your second haiku.

Greg, I can really see the scene of your first haiku. Good job!

Marc- You suck! (Not your haikus however. They are just fine.) But to mention its a two year anniversary put me on the spot! I didn't know what to get you so I settled on this.

My gift two you: first haikus EVER, as horrible as they are, following the stricter of English guidelines.

Cold, dank night of ink
Loneliness spared by small gift
Snow drifts in lamp light.

Ancient crowds, bright eyes
Night decked out in her finest
Shooting stars sail by.

Reaching for the sky
Green grass far below my feet
Gravity takes hold

Greg - thanks :)

I think for the first time I can't decide which of yours I like better. So different from each other, yet both so good.

Morganna - thank you :)

I really love the sentiment of your second haiku. I suspect I'll be writing similar ones many years from now.

Heather - you have no idea how happy that makes me. People branching out and trying new things here for the first time is just... awesome :)

And you're much too hard on yourself. I think they're all quite good, with the middle one being my favorite. I really like that one :D
