The exercise:

Alright, today's prompt was a lot simpler when it first occurred to me, but then it kind of spiraled out of control. I'll see if I can simplify it a little bit:

Step one: pick a group of people you wouldn't expect to make a rock band.

Step two: name that group's band by messing with an existing rock band's name.

Step three: make a song list for your made up band by messing with existing song titles (by any band).

I'm also going to ask that you put the original band/song title in brackets next to your created ones so that I know where they came from.

A bit more challenging than my usual prompts, I think, but I'm sure you're all more than capable of this :)

Update on last night's howling wind: still going, though it's calmed a bit now. During lunch I saw a bird fly by the house. Sideways.

It looked rather... startled.

Mine:

This one will take a while. Although I love music, I am vaguely familiar with most names of songs or even groups. Pop Culture was never my forte.

That said, the first thing that came to mind when I saw the prompt was this "band". If nothing else, it will make you smile.

Does this count as my entry?

Hmm, interesting prompt. I think I like this idea! (And I like your strange Canadian, sideways-flying birds too.)
Of your songs, I think I like I Got Tan Lines best :)

My band do cover tracks, as it turns out they're better named than I could invent myself... (sigh)

Heather - you get a pass for making me laugh :)

Zhongming - glad you enjoyed it!

Greg - I was running into that problem of perfectly appropriate song titles as well, haha. I can't remember any of them off the top of my head, sadly.

I think Scary Monsters and Welcome To The Monkey House are my favorites.

Brunnhilde - that was fantastic! I'm not sure I can pick a favorite song title, but perhaps the push broom one wins out :)

Very nicely done.

Denin - well this was definitely a pleasant surprise! I'm glad you came across this one and decided to give it a go.

Where the Aisles are All Named was probably my favorite, though I also enjoyed Aisleway to Heaven :D
