The exercise:

A four line jailhouse prayer poem.

We had a decent market this morning, though it wasn't as busy as we were expecting for the long weekend.

I've been zonked out on the couch for the last hour and a bit, so this should be entertaining. Apologies in advance if mine is complete crap. And for the rather random prompt.

Which took me another hour to think of, in between spacing out and... more spacing out.

Mine:

Dear Lord, I don't want money,
Or a Caribbean honey;
Lord, if you're really up there...
Could you short out the electric chair?

Ah, but one problem with a long weekend is that people make plans to go out and away, so fewer people are buying food until the Monday or Tuesday. Still, you had a decent market, and that's surely the important thing!
I like your jailhouse prayer. It's an odd topic definitely, and I'm afraid I don't think I can do it justice today :(

Jailhouse prayer

The clouds are grey and the birds have flown,
South for this endless winter,
I grieve alone in this concrete cell,
Asking forgiveness from any who listen.

From the bottom of my heart,
I cried out to the lord,
Praying that i will be forgiven,
Even though i am in a jailhouse.

Greg - nah, you did just fine with it.

And normally we get lots of tourists buying fruit on long weekends, but I guess the poor weather leading up to the weekend turned people off. Ah well.

Zhongming - nicely done :)
