The exercise:

A four line poem about: pride.

We started working in the greenhouse this morning, seeding up a few flats of onions, leeks, thyme, and rosemary. Then this evening we went for dinner at the Sonora Room Restaurant, the place we've been selling our produce to the last couple of years.

They've just opened up again after being closed for a couple of months for their winter break. The food was fantastic and we felt like we were welcomed back like family.

It's been a pleasant, farming kind of day.

Mine:

Just this one time,
For the sake of our goal,
I'll ball it up tight
And swallow it whole.

Sounds like a very productive day. I googled the Sonora Room Restaurant to see what it's like, and I was impressed: it looks beautiful. And being part of a vineyard can't hurt either :)
I like your poem, it's almost like a little mantra.

Pride
When I go out for an evening run,
The streets are deserted, for at my side,
Are sixteen very large cats;
I'm head of my very own pride.

@Marc - I agree with Greg, you poem sounds like a mantra.

@Greg - I love how you used the other definition of pride. :}

I'll take mine from something I've already created. A lullaby for my son. :}

Pride
sing to chorus of Poison's Cherry Pie

He's my baby boy
Mama's pride love and joy
His big smile will not annoy
Sweet baby boy!

It's been a farming weekend for us too. i'm exhausted. But I'm not trying to manage nearly as many crops as you are.

When they saw her in the white gown of a bride,
Her Daddy flushed, while her Momma cried,
They shared a memorable moment, full of pride,
Then walked down the isle side by side.

Ugh...rhyming hard today.

He had a bit more than his share
And made sure they all knew it.
Yet his unwanted solitude,
He just could not intuit.

Greg - yeah, the location is pretty amazing. And the chefs do a great job as well.

That's quite the image you created there. I'd hide in my house as well, I think.

Cathryn - aw, that's very sweet :)

Krystin - farming on any scale can be tiring work.

Great way to capture that moment.

GZ - I have had many a day like that :)

Nice use of intuit!
