The exercise:

Two haiku about: the moon.

As promised earlier, here's a picture of the horses I'm feeding this week while we're housesitting:

If they look a little grumpy it's because I'm pretty much always later to arrive with their hay than they like. Though I'm still determined I'll win them over before all is said and done.

Mine:

Hanging in the sky,
indifferent to our struggle,
it waxes and wanes.

*     *     *

Ever orbiting,
alone in space but for a
few brief visitors.

Today I am white,
Sometimes red, yellow, gray, blue;
Multicoloured moon.

I push and I pull
With great invisible hands,
Mixing your oceans.

the moon - haiku

I always wanted
to see the moon over the
ocean, large as life

moving here - I got
to have my wish come true, so
no regrets on this

The Moon

Full Moon

Bright white in the night
Rising high into the sky
Outshining the stars

New Moon
Dark sky full of stars
Full constalations are seen
Moon refelcts no light

Born mid June through mid July,
Cancer is our sign.

JorJack - hmm, that's not a bad idea. Now I just need me some sugar cubes...

Love your second haiku :D

Writebite - like the way yours flowed together, though the first could certainly stand on its own.

Cathryn - great imagery in both, though I think I like the first just a little bit more.

Krystin - two excellent - and educational! - haiku :D
