The exercise:

Write four lines of prose about: together again.

Very tired. We picked sixty-sixty pints of strawberries this morning.

Because that's when we ran out of pints and started picking into quarts. I think we picked another twenty-six quarts, but that was quite some time ago and my brain has long since stopped working. If it starts working again by market open I'll try to remember to count them all before they sell out.

Good night.

Mine:

The journey was... long. Yes, let us label it only as such and move on. Further description would require further examination and the end result of all that is surely insanity.

So be quiet and allow me a few moments to enjoy having the band back together before whatever comes next chooses to arrive.

That's a lot of strawberries! I'm very impressed; I hope watching them sell out tomorrow is a reward for all the hard work of picking them today :)
And yes, I can see exactly where today's prompt and the lovely bit of writing it inspired has come from!

Together again
"This is not funny!" yelled the Green Lightbulb, struggling in the three-armed, three-legged, bi-headed body that he and the Red Lightbulb now shared. "We were born Siamese twins, but we got over that!"
"Together again," remarked Red thoughtfully. "I wonder who's idea this was?"

My mom decided that she was getting the band back together a few years back. She's never been in a band, but I'm in charge of the maracas.

As it happens, one of my most favorite Star Wars bits is about reunion and almost four lines:
"Together again, huh?"
"Wouldn't miss it?"
"How we doin'?"
"Same as always."
"That bad, huh?"

Anyhow, that aside, my bit's before this and after this. Not sure why I've been so taken with this angle of late, but there we go.

Even with this unexpected change in weekend plans, I didn't expect restlessness to finally get me out of bed at 4am, start on a six hour drive by 5, and get me to Connor's apartment before noon, only to discover he hadn't been there for weeks.

I hadn't expected to then weave across town, torn whether to call my sister or my boss first to update them, and if I should call either of them before I had a full grasp of the situation. Or a nap, but that would have to wait until I saw Connor.

And weirdly enough, for as unprepared as I was to see him, I had least expected not only the receptionist's response---"I'm sorry, but you can't see Mr. Steely, Mr. Steely"---but the ferocity with which I was prepared to fly through the glass.

Greg - yeah, that was definitely rewarding. Though it left me wondering just how many we could sell, should we have enough.

Hah. Yes, I wonder who's idea it was as well :)

g2 - yeah, that's one of the better bits of dialogue in the entire series :D

I'm not sure either, but I'm quite glad you have been. More fun and interesting stuff in this segment.
