The exercise:

Write two haiku about: the premiere.

Just three more box days remaining after today's work. I can't wait for it to be over at this point, as Tuesdays are just very, very long.

Anyway, time for bed.

Mine:

Walk the red carpet,
with fifty stops for pictures;
flashbulbs leave you blind.

*     *     *

A curtain rising
after countless rehearsals...
I forget my lines.

Days tend to feel longest when you're doing things you don't want to have to do, and it does sound like you're counting down the days to the end of the box program now! Sweet dreams (of filling boxes... ;-))
I like your first haiku better today, and I'm relieved to say I've never had the problem in the second. I did forget my lines nearly completely in the dress-rehearsal once, but that's manageable!

The premiere
A new film opens
But the internet showed it
A week earlier.

------------
The striking actors
Made opening night quite odd:
"Les Mis" kept laughing.

It's opening night
All our hard work bears fruit now
Break a leg, my dear!

Greg - yes, dress rehearsals are much more forgiving for things like that :)

And your first haiku is just so true... makes me wonder how much longer movie premieres will exist.

Morganna - lovely sentiment :)
