The exercise:

Write four lines of prose about: the hybrid.

Kat and I spent a good chunk of the morning transplanting our broccoli plants into the garden. We were hoping to get to the cabbages as well, but they'll have to wait for another day.

I am very tired and very ready for this weekend.

Mine:

"Professor, I've been going over your notes for the upcoming experiments and -"

"Flawless, aren't they?"

"Well, actually, I had some questions about how you were planning on achieving some of the hybrid animals you outlined in pages fifty through ninety-one, especially some of the more... uh, unusual pairings."

"Then I am happy to assure you that the answer is the same for all of them: candles and some soft music to set the mood."

Broccoli is tasty! I noticed a tip the other day for stir-frying broccoli that suggested putting into the wok by itself and adding a spoon or two of water to steam it and get a bright-green colour for it, before adding other veg and the meat back in :)
Heh, I like your professor's attitude to his work. And I'm absolutely certain that the candles are the key to his success!

Hybrid
Harvey surveyed the latest catalogue from the seed retailers, wondering where they got their ideas for hybrid vegetables from. Broccopea, Cabbamint, Parsnot... they all sounded a little dodgy to him. Then he spotted the leek/cabbage and squash/leek hybrids: the Leekage! the Squeak! proclaimed the headline, and burst into laughter. He only stopped when he realised the catalogue was for February and not actually an April's Fools' joke.

Greg - that's a neat trick for stir-fries, we shall have to try that one out!

Heehee, Parsnot. Funniest thing is, one of the things we transplanted yesterday was Aspabroc...
