The exercise:

Write four lines of prose about: pain.

I would expect a return to Vancouver Irrealis on Sunday, for those of you who might be wondering about that.

The apricot trees are filling with blossoms, the bees are buzzing, the sun is shining.

It's a good time of year.

Mine:

"Why does Luke have to be such a royal pain in the a-"

"He's not," I said, cutting her off before I was left with no choice but to ground her. "He's your little brother, that's all."

"So what," she snapped, half-turning and pointing behind her with a finger adorned with too many rings, "that means I have to just accept this fork being stuck here?"

Luke seems like an interesting brother.... And I am rather curious as to where, exactly, that fork was stuck!
I have been meaning to ask about Vancouver Irrealis, but I've been a little busy lately myself so it didn't seem fair to bug you when you were busy too :)

Pain
"I like to think of pain as Nature's little key," whispered the torturer. The victim, strapped to a solid oaken bed frame with heavy leather belts and supporting a hot cauldron already with just his stomach muscles, made no sound. "Are you sure you wouldn't like to upgrade your room to the double-bed, included breakfast, and satellite tv channels?"
This was, thought the victim, absolutely the worst health spa he'd ever been to.

Greg - pretty sure it's stuck in the a- referenced in the opening line :P

And I hope you like what I've done with VI this month. I could have easily gone on for much, much longer with all the questions swirling around in my head, but I managed to keep it reasonable.

Yes, that's just about the worst health spa I could imagine. Hot damn!
