The exercise:

Write a four line poem about: cat(s).

The clocks are going forward an hour overnight, so I should get to bed.

I'll just say today went fairly well, with only a few difficult moments taking care of Max on my own for most of it. A lot of fun was had too, of course, and a visit from a couple friends helped a lot. It's always a nice break when Max has someone else to focus on for a little while.

Not sure what tomorrow will hold in store for us. We might join Kat in North Vancouver and enjoy the parks over there while she's in training, or we might stick around here and see what kind of trouble we can get into closer to where we're staying.

Either way... I should get some sleep.

Mine:

He roams these streets,
Seemingly alone -
But I know that
He does have a home.

Our clocks don't go forward till the end of the month, so I guess you'll be an hour closer to the "real" time for a few weeks then :) It seems like you had a busy day; I hope tomorrow is as rewarding!
That's a nice little summary of a street-cat, definitely. I think even without knowing the prompt you could easily work out what the poem is about.

The cat
I heard tales of a cat called Macavity
Which made me sad, because my cat's depravity
Rivals that cat's deeds in malice and crime...
Only my cat comes home covered in slime.

I'm a little upset that we lost an hour last night.

Cats:

With tiny paws and large green eyes,
They bat and play with yarn heart strings.
Too cute for words when they stumble about,
But there are lions within their hearts.

Greg - man, I do not understand all these uncoordinated time changes the world's got going on. I reckon we should just leave the clocks alone.

That's a fun poem to read aloud :D

Ivybennet - you and me both.

I really like your 'yarn heart strings' line, and that final line is bang on as well.
