The exercise:

Write two haiku about something that is: clandestine.

Man, that's a fun word. I have no idea how I've managed to never use it even once on this blog before today. I'd like to think I thought about using it before, but I'm pretty sure I haven't.

Finally got a first coat of paint on the bathroom this morning. Aiming for a second coat in the morning before I have to take over Max duties. I do not enjoy painting, for the record.

NHL playoffs, the 2015 version, commence tomorrow night. I can't wait.

Mine:

They meet in dark bars
unfrequented by those who
might tell their partners

*     *     *

Between spreadsheets and
meetings, he works frantically
on his debut book

I bet Max likes painting... why don't you give him a small brush, a small tin and let him paint a corner of the bathroom. The fumes will probably put him to sleep early too :-D
Clandestine is a lovely word and I'm delighted to see it make an appearance on the blog at last! I can see how it's inspired both haiku as well, and though I prefer the first haiku this week (because I like the sound of these bars!) I like the sentiment of the second a lot. So... are you painting your first draughts on the bathroom wall and then painting over them when you don't like them?

Clandestine
He writes her short notes
Intimating desires he
Dares not make public

Deep underground lurk
Enemies. They watch you at
Night while you're sleeping....

[It's been a while since I tried to get the two haiku to form an acrostic relevant to the title, so I thought I'd try again]

Greg - oh, he does like to paint. And I'm sure the fumes would do *wonders* for him :P

Oh, I'd almost forgotten about your acrostic haiku habit! So that makes it extra nice to see you bringing it back. I think I like your second best, but it's close.

Morganna - hah, that's a tough call as well. I think I like your first best, with it's last second revelation of what the monks are up to, but the scene your second paints is excellent.
