The exercise:

Write two haiku about: the cheapskate.

Sorry for the late posting. Apparently I fell asleep on the couch for a very long time and when I woke up I was too groggy to figure out what was going on, so I just went to bed instead.

That may or may not have had something to do with picking strawberries all morning. And then again all evening. At least that's done for now.

Rebecca didn't arrive on Monday as planned, due to some issues with her truck brakes. That should be all sorted out now and we're expecting her sometime on Wednesday morning.

Oh, hey - seven years ago I started this blog. Happy blogaversary to Daily Writing Practice!

Mine:

He cuts his own hair.
Well, that's not so bad, is it?
With borrowed scissors.

*     *     *

His clothes are ninth-hand,
His watch fake, and he's banned from
All all-you-can-eats

Happy Blogaversary! Seven years sounds like a fairy-tale length of time, surely it's time for the blog to turn into a pumpkin? Or maybe a talking strawberry that demands to be picked and then runs away from you... :)
Heh, I had wondered why you were late posting. I'm glad it wasn't anything Max-related. And I'm sure all your WOOFers have had vehicle trouble now... you're clearly hexing them!
I like you first haiku better today, definitely, though the idea of ninth-hand clothes is... worrisome.

Cheapskate
Summer heat swelters,
Ice melts, fishmongers discount.
Now that's some cheap skate!

--------
Trees shake in Spring's winds,
She re-gifts for your birthday –
Half-full shampoo bottle.

No, I will not use
Some cotton balls tied with string
When Aunt Flo is here.

For once I wish you
Could simply splurge for one day
To show me you care.

Greg - the talking strawberry sounds about right at this point...

Your first haiku... cheap skate... goodness me. Clear winner this week.

Ivy - holy... wow. Just, wow. That's fantastic. Fantastically horrifying? Maybe. But fantastic nonetheless. Bravo :D
