The exercise:

Write four lines of prose about: the long haul trucker.

It is frickin' cold out there. Thankfully I've had the fireplace going strong all day so I don't feel it right now. Of course, I'm going to need to grab a few more pieces of wood from out front before I go to bed...

Not so much looking forward to that.

Got a few errands done in town this afternoon. Should have done a few more. Involving purchasing enough food to last for the next three months.

Because I'm about ready to hibernate.

Mine:

The road can be a lonely place. Voices on the CB try to keep me company but it's not the same. As much as I try to put on a brave show, try to pretend that it doesn't bother me... it does.

So that's why I have a tendency to pick up some rather oddball hitchhikers...

Going out front to pick up wood surely isn't comparable to a journey by a long-haul trucker is it? While it's a good prompt, I suspect you might be getting a little hysterical there :-P
Good luck with the hibernation, though I'm not sure Max will let you, you know....
Aw, this is just the start to a much longer piece! I want to know more!

The long haul trucker
Vizile was jerked awake by Captain Rascal overriding the lock on the door to his cabin (coffin might also have worked as a description given how small it was) and yelling his name in his ear. He jerked upright in shock and confusion and smacked his head on the ceiling.
"The long-haul trucker's arrived," said Rascal, "out from Mars if I heard him right. Get out there and provide him with some 'R&R' while me and the crew pirate whatever he's hauling."

Greg - the wood and the prompt were unrelated, believe it or not :P

And no, Max would most certainly not allow that to happen.

Hah, this was an unexpected continuation. Unexpected, but most appreciated! I feel like I'm starting to get a better picture of what this world of yours is all about.
