The exercise:

Write two haiku about: the studio.

It is snowing outside, something fierce. I think Max will be very excited tomorrow morning, as at the current rate there will be more than enough accumulated to make a snowman.

Also: there were two owls in the walnut tree in our front yard this evening. It was amazing how loud their hoots were, though there wasn't enough light to see them until they flew away.

Yes, I stood in our front doorway, letting the cold in, freezing my butt off in a t-shirt and pajama pants, staring up into the tree trying to see them. Though I was about to give up right before they took flight.

Mine:

A smile on her face,
she practices her routine
with no end in sight

*     *     *

We make the movies
that people want to see. So
make the edits. Now.

Hah, Kat is very tolerant then in not shouting at you to close the door behind you and freeze on your own :) But it sounds like it was worth it to see the owls.
Well, the company in Malta have offered me a job, so it looks like I might be moving there in January. I haven't formally accepted yet, but I think I'm going to.
I like your second haiku better today, as the last line made me smile :)

The studio
A studio flat –
As close to living in one
Room as you can get.

------
The Blue Studio
is a euphemism; she
says she didn't know....

Alrighty then, I'm finally posting again. I am still alive, and doing well. In the months since my last post, I graduated nursing school, studied for and passed my boards, got a job on medical oncology unit (I don't start until Junuary 11, though), and got myself a dog. He's a red and white Siberian husky named Loki. He's currently 18 weeks old and is almost fully potty trained (rings a bell by the door to go outside) and knows how to come, sit, stay, shake, lay down, and has almost got army crawl down.

Whew, it's been a busy few months.

Anywho, I hope everyone is doing great!

The Studio:

In the darkness here
I craft my beautiful works
In vast shades of red.

You see, everyone
Has a different shade of blood
With which to craft paint.

Greg - yeah, she was there with me for a few moments, then retreated to the couch and a warm blanket. I can't remember if she was willing to share the blanket with me after I was done standing in the cold...

Ah, an offer! Now I'm trying to remember if I've read anything about you accepting it. January is coming in a hurry now!

Hmm, I can't seem to find the meaning of Blue Studio that your second haiku references. Now I'm deeply curious!

Ivy - hello and welcome back! Glad to see your time away has been good to you :)

Also: Loki sounds awesome. Love the name, by the way.

Really like how your second haiku twists the first one so drastically. I did not see that coming at all. Nice work!
