The exercise:

Write two haiku which have something to do with: speechless.

Let me tell you guys, having laryngitis for the first time in my life while living in a household with a toddler and a newborn is just, like, such good times. Such, such good times.

I had to get Kat to call in sick to the bakery for me. I've been booked off for tomorrow and Thursday. Fingers crossed I'll be up to doing my shift on Friday.

Because I'm not sure how much more of this I can take.

Mine:

Naked but for a
well-placed cauliflower head?
You've left me speechless...

*     *     *

The coronation
is about to begin! Where
is my speech writer?

So... everyone's talking for you? You're playing charades in order to communicate? This sounds hilarious -- we need pictures!
I hope it cleared up quickly for you, did you go to the doctor about it?
I think I like your first haiku better today because it's a sincerely funny image :)

Speechless
Spring succeeds winter,
Snowdrops emerge like tiny
Jewels: I'm speechless.

--------
You burned my notes, left
me speech-less: I told your guests
About your mother.

Greg - yeah, lots of hand signals. Most of them Kat didn't get. I might not be very good at charades.

No trip to the doctor. I think if it goes back two weeks(!) you're supposed to get it checked out. Thank goodness it didn't get that far.

I quite like the story I'm picturing with your second haiku, so that's my favorite this week :)
