The exercise:

Write four lines of prose about: cleaning up.

I'm not quite sure what I want to share about my morning at work. I'd rather not get into the details, both because they're gross and because I'd rather not think about them. So I'll just say this: cleaning the men's washroom at the main beach took me an hour and fifteen minutes this morning.

Usually? That's a thirty minute job, tops.

Here's hoping tomorrow morning sees a better start to the day.

If nothing else, at least it will be my Friday.

Mine:

The beard is gone, the clothes are new. A tidy, respectable haircut. Subtle hints of cologne waft through the air.

Yeah, he cleans up pretty nicely.

Ah, I'm sorry to hear about your day. Everyone I've known who has cleaned public toilets has similar tales to tell -- there seems to be no understanding what some people are thinking when they do that kind of thing. I hope it's an infrequent occurrance for you.
Hmm, these four lines seem to be hiding more story, and I'd definitely like to hear it! Perhaps you could add it to that list of stories to continue?

Cleaning up
"Are you sure about this? Only it seems a bit odd...."
"He said clean up!"
"Yes, but are you sure he meant start at the floor and work towards the ceiling?"

Greg - indeed, I often find myself saying 'what were they thinking?' during the course of my job. But so far that's been the only really bad cleaning job I've had to contend with, so hurray for that.

Heh, nice take on the prompt. Thank you for the smile this one gave me :)
