The exercise:

Write a four line poem about something that has been: compromised.

Kat and I picked blackberries for local orders this morning while the boys were with her parents. Got the 22 pints we needed, plus another 10 pounds for the bakery, plus an extra 5 pints to have at the table when people came to pick up their orders.

Sold two of those, plus an extra twenty pounds of peaches. Almost made waiting around in the heat and smoke worth it.

I should probably stop complaining about the smoke, seeing as I've heard nothing to indicate that it will be going away any time soon...

Mine:

The perimeter has been breached
By persons we do not know.
Quick! Pack everything up, children -
It is time to hit the road.

That's a lot of fruit (and just so you know, it's hard enough understanding what a "pint" of solid fruit means without you then mixing in pounds as well :-P) How many pints to the pound (oh no, wait, you can't convert pints to anything else because it's different for each pint... aaargh!)? Still, well done on selling so much :)
Hmm, your poem seems to be the start of a longer tale! It was fun, but I'd like to know what happens next :)

Compromised
I gave our Lord the news,
He seemed rather unsurprised.
Shouldn't he have been curious
As to how we were compromised?

Greg - at this point I pretty much only mention fruit weight to drive you crazy :D

Ah, and yours seems like it could be a beginning as well. I can't remember if you continued this one or not, but I hope you did.

And I apologize for forgetting about continuation Saturday this past weekend - totally slipped my mind.
