The exercise:

Write two haiku about: a victory for common sense.

Not sure what else to call it.

  1. Mine:

    History and the
    president were on his side.
    The people were not.

    The right choice was clear,
for those who could think clearly.
    Cloudless minds prevailed.

  2. We thought they wouldn't
Couldn't do it, they'd lost their
    Minds, but we were wrong.

  3. @Marc: I guessed what the prompt was about when I saw it :) I have to say, I wasn't convinced that Roy Moore would lose. Trump backing him did look like it would be the nail in the coffin (Trump's not getting a good record with who he chooses to endorse) but Alabama has been Republican for a long time.
I think I like your haiku equally today; they're both simple celebrations of what happened :)

@Morganna: I like how you sum things up with yours as you capture my lack of conviction that it would really happen perfectly!

    A victory for common sense
    The people voted
They were clear about what they
    Wanted. That's: no Moore.

  4. Morganna - hurray! :)

Greg - yeah, I wasn't sure what would happen. I don't think I was even hopeful. But I am definitely pleased with the outcome.

Hah, two good ones to pick from here. Not sure I can vote against 'no Moore'... so let's go with that as my fav this week :)
