The exercise:

Write two haiku about something: flavourful.

  1. Ah, a worthy follow-up prompt to yesterday's bland :) Will we be getting spicy, or zesty, or zingy tomorrow then?

    Flavourful
    Fog cuddles the vines
    And fungus grows. Botrytised
    Wine has more flavour.

    Her emails are short
    And... flavourful. Yes, that's how
    I'll describe them (all).

  2. Greg: As a wino, I was delighted with your first haiku. And that last one! Just like always, you took the prompt to a completely different place. Now I'm curious as to what her emails entailed.

I was eating a spicy chicken sandwich when I read this prompt. Sorry not sorry.

    The spice set ablaze
Every taste bud on my tongue
    With each bite I took.

    A delightful fire
That set light down to my soul
    And awoke my mind.

  3. Greg - yes, something like that :)

'Noble rot'. That is such a wine industry thing. Like 'royal mold' or 'princely putrefaction'. I should stop before I give them any more ideas.

Ivy - these are both great on their own, and only get better by putting them together. Nicely done!
