The exercise:
Write two haiku about: phobias.
It is getting progressively colder around these parts. I suppose that's to be expected, but I'm still not particularly enjoying it. Probably won't mind as much once all the garden work has been completed.
Mine:
His greatest fear is
that they will learn that he fears
anything at all
* * *
Creepy and crawly,
slimy and slithery... could
we change the subject?
You could install under-garden heating for the winter? You might even get a second crop out of it :)
ReplyDeleteI like your second haiku better today, as it reminds me of Mr. Wriggles, and I'm not phobic of snakes at all :-D
Phobias
Sesquipedali-
ophobia; the fear of
long words. Amusing!
-------
My fear of gases --
especially oxygen --
is now killing me.
I sit in darkness,
ReplyDeleteI walk on top of the world,
Spiders don’t scare me.
Fear only grabs hold
When its late and I’m alone,
Faced with mortal’ty.
Greg - no no, I'm quite ready for a break from all this garden stuff, thanks very much!
ReplyDeleteI was going to pick your first as my favorite directly after reading it, but now that I've also read your second... hmm. Let's call it a tie this week.
Ivybennet - you really have a knack for these connected haiku. I'll go with your second as my favorite this week, as it could easily stand on its own and still be excellent.
