The exercise:

Write two haiku about: danger.

  1. Knife, rhinoceros and danger. Have you been sent to Africa? Or have the good citizen of Osoyoos decided to add a safari park to the community centre and you've picked up the job of large-animal feeder? (Incidentally, this reminds me of one of my favourite jokes:
(lights cigarette, inhales, blows a smoke ring): "Ah, Suzanne. The one that got away."
"You're a zoo-keeper. None of them are supposed to get away."
    )

    Danger
    Prepare for today's
    Eclipse - flesh-eating ghouls will
    Roam the darken'd streets

    I know they fear the
Light, but how long will this burn?
    Shadows hold danger....

  2. Marc,

Thank you for the welcome back! It's been a while, but I'm hoping to get back into semi-regular writing this year.

    Danger

    Step soft in darkness
    Scan surroundings carefully
    Black Legos kill feet

    Squirrel waits ahead
    No match for my SUV
    Moose plans destruction

  3. Greg - I'd be down for either of those things. Sadly, neither are actually the case.

    Love the acrostic :)

Aholiab - best of luck with your writing!

I have lived your first haiku. Great final line in your second :)
