The exercise:
Write two haiku about: the first day.
Only seems fair.
It was an overwhelming day, but I got through it. I am confident that it will gradually become more manageable though. There's just a lot of stuff to take care of in this position.
If the first day didn't feel a little bit overwhelming you would know that the job was going to be boring. Any new job should bring a challenge with it, to be enjoyable. The important thing is that you're already looking at it and seeing how you're going to meet and conquer that challenge :)

Greg - yeah, I feel like I've finally found work with the town that will challenge me and actually suit my skill set. I just have to get adjusted to those demands after not having that for... a while.
ReplyDeleteHeh, one of the new programs I'm working with has an option to use a calendar to select the date I want to assign things (start date, due date, that sort of thing) rather than typing it out. Only the calendar starts its weeks on Saturday and I pick the wrong date pretty much every time I'm thinking of a day of the week rather than a date.
So your second one pleases me, is what I'm trying to say.
