The exercise:

Write a four line poem about: children.

Mine:

Such serious men! The Master laughed. Relax!
Perhaps you need a plaything?
Oh, I know, he told them as the lights went out.
Have you met Buddy's offspring?

  1. At least I know where the inspiration for this prompt came from! I hope it was a calm night and Miles is getting on well :)

Ah, we have a new twist, which I wasn't expecting but also doesn't come completely as a surprise. I think I was expecting the Master to get taken away before revealing he had a back-up plan though :)

    Children
A sword of gold rests in the rib-cage of
An armoured child-sized man, whose hand points out
More corpses. “Children.” Sailors cross themselves
And pray to Belladonna of the Night.

  2. Greg - yeah he's doing well, thanks :)

Continue to be impressed by how well you're handling these prompts and managing to incorporate them. I feel like that's only going to get more challenging as the year draws to a close...
