What's done is done Father Thomas's hands moved swiftly and for a moment there was silence and then the cry of a baby filled the church. "What have you done?" whispered the verger, his tone a mixture of anger and shock and his face pale with rage. "Circumsized the baby," said Father Thomas, "though honestly, I didn't think we did Jewish ceremonies here." "We don't, and this was supposed to be marriage counselling," hissed the verger, who was getting ready to hide from the angrier-looking parents who were advancing on the priests.
