The exercise:

Write a four line poem about: making up for lost time.

  1. Hmm, well, the repetition really slows down the poem and there's not a lot I can do about that I think. But still, here we go...

    Making up for lost time
    The cartographer says, side-eyeing my knives
    “St. Ives is quite lovely at this time of year”.
    So the map-maker goes back to his map of St. Ives
    While I make up for lost time by upshifting the gear.

  2. Greg - hah, true. I was thinking your narrator might start making up for lost time, at least.

    Ooh, this is nicely done! Especially given the format you've stuck yourself with. Really like that final line :)
