The exercise:
Spring has arrived with such force in Vancouver that it's tempting to say that Summer has come early. This is being gratefully received and I'm enjoying biking to and from work every day, as well as the return of ultimate season.
So today's starter is: seasons.
Mine:
Spring makes the robins sing,
Blue skies watch over you,
Sun warms skin while you run.
Summer is no bummer,
Reach for the sunny beach,
Dine under stars with wine.
Seasons have their reasons,
They give and take away,
Stop and savor each drop.
Hmm, the stanzas of your poem today have a similar feel to the haikus you wrote yesterday, which I rather like. I'm guessing that you prefer the warm seasons though, since you've skipped talking about autumn and winter?

Seasons:
There's a cycle running through the year,
Starting with the chill of blessed winter,
And as the warmth of spring draws near,
I feel the seasons start to splinter.
Starting with the chill of blessed winter,
The earth prepares itself to grow.
I feel the seasons start to splinter,
And summer's on its way, I know.
The earth prepares itself to grow,
The sun reveals the joy of being,
And summer's on its way I know,
Autumn mists and golden leaves are freeing.
The sun reveals the joy of being,
There's a cycle running through the year,
Autumn mists and golden leaves are freeing,
And the warmth of spring draws near.
Aye, I'm not much of a winter man. Plus I was feeling lazy and wanted to cut it short :)
ReplyDeleteOh how I do love when you bust out the repeating line poems. You do them so well.
