The exercise:

Two Haiku Tuesday continues, despite the end of ultimate season. Mostly because I'm lazy. Partly because I do enjoy a haiku or two each week.

The topic tonight: it's in the eyes.

Mine:

My dear I must say
You have very enchanting
Windows to your soul

* * *

I can see just fine.
No, really I can. Honest!
Put the laser down.

  1. Ultimate's over already? That feels like it's been quite a short season. How did you do overall this time then?

Thank-you for the continuation of yesterday's piece, though I feel you only wrote half of it. What about the guy left behind? :-P

I like both your haikus, they work rather well as 'his point of view/her point of view'.

    Hayfever's bonus this year,
    It is in my eyes.

  2. Your first is sweet; there's just something about the second that strikes me as amusing.

As soon as you mentioned eyes, I immediately thought of Connor's Second Dichotomy, and it was just too perfect an idea to pass up.

    Enthusiasm abounds

    Cold, tired, judging
    There's almost something sinister
    In the Doctor's eyes.

  3. reddened amber eyes
    watch as white lines disappear
    blinded by false joy

  4. Greg - well I didn't cave in and start haiku Tuesday until more than halfway through, so that might have something to do with it. We did okay overall, had a good bit of fun though.

And... I'll think about the other side of the story :)

I like both of yours, perhaps the first one slightly more.

g2 - hah, nicely done. I like the second one a lot :)

Monica - really liking the sinister turn in your second haiku.

  5. I wonder why you have such an affinity for the second one... such a mystery...
