The exercise:
In celebration (?) of arriving at work yesterday morning to find that it was still dark out, this week's four line poem starter comes courtesy of Flight of the Conchords: the daytime of the night.
Mine:
You said "Good morning"
And I said "Good night"
You looked outside and
Found that I was right
"Good morning," "afternoon,"
ReplyDelete"Good evening," "good night,"
It's one of these times
somewhere now, alright?

The prompt reminded me of Python's Silly Job Interview... I realize meter might be off here, but still... heehee ^^
You know winter's on the way when the sun doesn't bother getting up until after you've got to work. I like your poem, it's quite snappy :)
ReplyDeleteThe daytime of the night
This far north it's always light
For six months of the year,
Which confuses me every night:
I don't like sleeping here.
g2 - meter, schmeter; it's all about the funny! :)
ReplyDeleteGreg - I don't think I'd be able to handle the sun being out for 24 hours. I need pretty much complete darkness to sleep.
So I suspect your poem speaks for both of us :)
I wake up, look up, and see stars.
ReplyDeleteTheir light dazzles, amazes, and blinds me:
The moon has moved from the sky,
Replaced by the afternoon sun.

i wanna see an eclipse. i also wanna see the Northern Lights. i also want to sleep right now. uggggh.
Jack - oh dear, I missed you posting this!
ReplyDeleteWell I like it, despite my tardiness :)
And I too would love to see the Northern Lights.
