The exercise:

A four line poem about: deception.

Reading a very good book at the moment that features a whole lot of that. I still have no idea what's going on. Kinda makes it hard to put it down.

Mine:

With a cocky smile,
You led me astray;
But my vision's cleared,
Now you're gonna pay.

  1. You can't just tell us you're reading a good book and then not tell us what it is! I'm re-reading Good Calories, Bad Calories at the moment as I find it's easier to read non-fiction when I'm trying to write fiction.
    That's a great little poem, just enough information to be interesting, and so short you're curious as to what it can tell you!

    Deception
    The candles are lit and dinner's prepared,
    You've told me the meat is chicken,
    Then half way through you got really scared:
    It's ferret that's finger-lickin'!

  2. Lights Out, by Peter Abrahams. Read a little more today and I'm starting to get a clearer picture, but I suspect there is still much more to be revealed.

    Eh, everything tastes like chicken anyway, right? :P
