The exercise:
Write two haiku that are, or are about something: positive.
In celebration of me finally finding out my blood type, which turned out to be A positive. Unfortunately that means that Kat gets to take a couple of shots - one at 28 weeks and another within three days after delivery - in order to avoid potential future complications should we choose to have a second child.
So, um, sorry about that, dear. I tried to think negative thoughts when they were taking my blood!
Mine:
Things are looking up,
I can feel it in my bones -
Summer is coming.
* * *
Another A Plus
on my report; even my
blood's smarter than you.
Two injections aren't too bad I guess, and it's better than the alternatives!
ReplyDeleteI like your second haiku better today, it made me smile :)
Positive
He was always sure,
Definitely positive,
That the map was wrong....
--------
Opposites attract,
But your positive outlook
Can't beat this sadness.
things are looking up
ReplyDeleteI know it's gonna happen
it's time to move on
this phase has been good
my positive reaction
cancels negatives
I just realised that my blood type is missing from my new RoadID anklet. :/ I'm O positive, didn't realise that it could vary between siblings.
ReplyDeleteHrm, will cheat and reuse a biking haiku I posted a while back:
Long bridge, no door zone
Sometimes I can smell the sea
Best part of the ride
And a new one:
Sun shining brightly
With a brisk breeze flowing past
Summer riding rocks
There are three blood types, A, B and O, as well as the RH Factor which can be Positive and negative. Your blood is actually made up of the two, and to complicate things you get two types. One from Mom and one from Dad, so yes blood type does vary between siblings. :} I happen to be AB+, so I can pass on an A or a B to my kids, while my husband... gee I have no idea what his blood type it... LOL
ReplyDeleteAnyway form scince lesson to poetry...
Positive Haiku
Haiku is positive
Dictating the sylables
Five plus seven plus five
Growing outer space
Ever expanding universe
Infinity plus
Greg - hah, your first one could easily be about me. I appreciate that :)
ReplyDeleteWritebite - I like them both; totally unable to pick a fav this week.
Nicky - yeah, I was reading about that yesterday. Depends on the blood type combination of the parents what the kids potential types are. I wonder what mom and dad are?
I enjoyed that first haiku the first time I saw it, and I'm quite happy to read it again :)
Cathryn - I quite like your second one this week :)
Morrigan - haha, that last line in your second haiku managed to get a surprised laugh out of me :D
