The exercise:

Write four lines of prose about: the walk.

I am a jumble of nervous energy right now. Wish me luck tomorrow.

Feeling better after finally doing a test setup of my display this evening. Received a few helpful tips from Kat as well. Now it's just a matter of showing up and hoping that people are looking for what I have to offer.

Plus there's the fact that I haven't done a market in over a month, so I'm totally out of the habit. Pretty sure I'm going to forget something. Hopefully it's minor.

Mine:

The crowded halls of our high school were home to many things. Gossip foremost among them, but there were also friendships, fights, even the odd bit of education here and there. Honestly though, there was only one thing I really cared enough to pay attention to, when all was said and done.

The way Lucy Miller walked.

Good luck with the market! I bet you forget to mark prices on what you're selling :-P But I'm sure you'll as well as you can; you've got no control over the crowds and their moods after all.
Hmm, does Kat know about Lucy Miller? ;-) A very nice touch to end your four lines today.

The walk
"Arrrr, Cap'n, we be needing another way to kill this troublesome mage, ye ken?" said the first mate, a pirate with a beard that birds had actually nested in and two eyepatches.
"Just make him walk the bleedin' plank," snarled the captain, his two-day hangover making him little coloured splotches where people ought to be.
"He keeps magicking the plank longer," said the first mate, watching as the captain groaned like a banshee and let his head sink to the rough-plank table he used for setting charts and maps out on. "If it gets any longer he's going to walk to the bloody shore!"

Wandering westering
Alone with the sunset
Lingering in the
Kindled pink evening.

Greg - that is a very clever mage. I think his chances of surviving this crew are pretty good!

Morganna - lovely imagery. Particularly like your final two lines.
