The exercise:

Write a four line poem about: the errand boy.

Trip to Penticton went surprisingly smoothly today. Got everything done that we needed to get done, with no major fussing from either of the boys.

I'll take that every time.

Tomorrow's looking pretty wide open, so I'm hoping to find time to be at least a little bit productive. We'll see how the boys feel about that.

Mine:

Errand Boy Number One is busy,
So send Number Two to me.
What? Really? Right between the eyes?
Well then, you better send me Three...

  1. Haha, good look with the boys wanting to be productive all day with you, you'll probably only get a few hours out of them :) But I hope you do manage to get things done. I'm being semi-productive today: I'm making Thai Ramen, which involved making pulled chicken, Soy Tare, chilli oil, Chilli Bits (a side effect of the oil for the most part) and Chicken Broth. And then the actual Ramen dish. But most of those things make more than one meal and keep well, so actually I'm really cooking for an entire week here.
Your narrator seems to have trouble keeping his errand boys! I'm not sure I'd want to work for him....

    The errand boy
He's always doing odd jobs round the back,
I text him on his phone to tell him what I lack.
He brings it within minutes, to my eternal joy,
I'm really pleased I've got an errand boy.

  2. Greg - eh, I wasn't expecting all day. Just a little bit of it. Honestly can't remember how it turned out at the moment though.

    Annnnd now I'm hungry. Thanks.

Sounds like you've got a great errand boy in your poem. Everyone seems quite happy in their role here, which is... kinda unsettling, coming from you :P
