The exercise:
Write two haiku about: hibernation.
Bit of a rough start to the day, but things recovered by early afternoon. Ran some errands in town, had a pleasant roasted chicken dinner with the family (Miles may have eaten too much chicken for his tiny belly... but he's gotta start working on learning that lesson eventually, right?), and enjoyed a cozy evening in front of the fireplace with Kat.
I'm covering for Emma at the bakery this week, so I'll be working full shifts Wednesday to Saturday. I'm hoping we'll sell out early on at least a couple of those days.
Mine:
The cold has arrived.
I think I shall stay inside
for a month or four...
* * *
He slumbers in his
cave, blissfully unaware
of our wintry blues
Your rehabilitation-by-bakery continues then? It will definitely restore your stamina I guess :)
ReplyDeleteI'll get to the House of Mercy this evening; I did check for it a couple of times yesterday but I think they were all before you woke up again and posted. I like the ideas you've put in there though!
I like both haikus equally this week, though I'm not sure I actually agree with your first :-P
Hibernation
Winds howl; I snuggle
In blankets made of bear-skin.
No, the bear's not dead....
The hibernation
Ended too soon. It still feels
Really cold outside.
Greg - yeah, sorry about the late posting. Glad you were able to get to it today though. I'm holding off on commenting to allow Morganna an opportunity to post, should she want to finish things off.
ReplyDeleteHah, love your first one. I can picture that scene all too clearly. As well as what is likely to happen next...
