The exercise:
Write a four line poem about something that is: bewildering.
The bakery was nuts this morning. I think we'd sold all of the loaves by 11, which is summer style nonsense. We had no idea what was going on.
Eventually one of our customers mentioned that it's a long weekend in Alberta and it all started to make some sense, as Osoyoos tends to get flooded with visitors whenever our neighbouring province has some time off.
I didn't end up closing early, as there were still lots of cinnamon buns left, but at least the afternoon was calmer. Aside from the late arrivals disappointed with the lack of bread.
Looking forward to my weekend.
Mine:
It's all so baffling and dizzying -
I am bathed in wonderment!
Isn't it just mind-boggling that I
Was elected president?
The bakery sounds like it was fun, especially the detective work to understand why all the bread is selling out! The cinnamon buns are probably my favourite, but I can still see how the bread would sell faster :)
ReplyDeleteI sincerely hope that you're going to take Trump as your role model for being President, though I'm seeing some fantastically weird stuff on the new lately: the bit where his spokesman claimed that the courts had no right to contradict the President was amazing. How long before Trump is considered America's first fascist president in 100 years, do you think?
Bewildering
The architect came to a land of bulls,
The people there asked that he build a ring.
He built it so it only had one side...
It was just bewildering.
Greg - I think plenty of people already consider him fascist. It's hard to see things changing for the better any time soon, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteHah, cleverly done, sir. Didn't even come to mind to play with the meaning of the word like that. But I suppose that is one of your areas of expertise, so it's best that I left it up to you :)
