The exercise:
Write two haiku about: deceit.
Trying to get Wednesday's post done tonight as well, so on with the haiku!
Mine:
A ruse. A facade.
Say what you will. I know you're
running from the truth.
* * *
Pretty lies slip from
pouting lips and I choose once
more to believe them
You seem busy considering you're on a six-day weekend :) I hope it's all good!
ReplyDeleteI think I like your two haiku equally this week: they contrast each other nicely, while still lamenting the same problem. Nice work!
Deceit
Graceless are your lies
Uttered by a faithless tongue
In evil service.
Loyalty is not
The virtue you embody
You deceitful cur!
Greg - I think I was mostly tired at this point. That seems to be a general rule these days though, so that's not saying much!
ReplyDeleteWonderful acrostic. It seems especially effortless in your first haiku, which I shall choose as my favorite due to all the lovely words you've used in it. Though I do have a soft spot for using deceitful cur as an insult...
