So this isn't technically my invention this time as it was Mark who invented the bandDamaging Winds, but it feels like they've had a long enough hiatus that they ought to be releasing their second album now. And I think I can claim the lead singer and drummer as my creations, so it just fits the bill :)
Peculiar Interviewer: Kevin and Mike, thank-you for agreeing to an interview today. It's been five years since the release of Damaging Winds's first album Chance of Large Hail. Some people out there may have forgotten about you in the interim, so what caused the long delay between albums?
Mike Corner:Technically this is our third album as we released a joint effort with Grumpy Rainbows.
Kevin Thompson: And that's where the problems all started really. We were offered the chance to go on tour with them and we said yes. The first two cities were great, sold-out venues and really friendly crowds. Then we had a one-day stopover in Sixticton on our way to Vancouver, and our manager had gone all AirB'n'B on us and we found ourselves staying in this little... villa is probably the right word--
Mike Corner:It was called Gale Force Nine. There was a sign on the wall done in pokerwork to let us know.
Kevin Thompson:Yeah, that's right. Well, we were staying there with the Rainbows--
Mike Corner: And they insisted on taking three bedrooms for themselves so we were all squashed into the one, with one sleeping bag and a single bed for four of us.
Kevin Thompson: Luckily we're really, really good friends, so we managed to get some sleep. But the Rainbows were tripping something that night and they somehow managed to flood the bathroom and all their bedrooms. We woke up and pretty much had to swim for it. The owner of the house was grumpier than the Rainbows and they were denying even having stayed there, so we've spent the last four years fighting a lawsuit and trying to prove that they were responsible. We won, and we used the damages we were awarded to fund the second album. Our label had even forgotten about us!
Interviewer: Well, that all sounds very peculiar! The new album represents a bit of a change of musical direction for you I believe?
Mike Corner: Yeah, we're no longer trip-rock Weathercore, now we've mellowed a bit. We're sort of Atlantic Folk-metal with pan pipes and tubular bells.

Interviewer: And the new album is called...?
Kevin Thompson Cumulo-peculiar
Out of ordinary
Decidedly different
Dares the unusual

I swear I'm writing these poems before I read what Greg wrote! :)
Greg - oh man, Damaging Winds. Thank you for this :)
I love this interview. All of it.
Morganna - hah, I believe you. Just some pleasant... what's the word I'm looking for... synergy? No, probably not, but it's late and that's all I got.
