The exercise:
Write four lines of prose about something that is: unlucky.
It's been a busy week (more on that in the comments), but that's still no excuse for me not mentioning that yesterday was Miles' second birthday. Here's a picture from a couple days ago in an attempt to make up for it:
It's been a cold spring so far but the apricot blossoms are finally in full bloom.

Work update:
Since Easter Monday I've been covering shifts at Planning and Development (7 hour days Wed-Mon) and the community centre (2 hours Tues, 6 hours Wed, 5 hours Thur, 8 hours today), plus a mix on the Tues after the holiday (2 hours P&D, 3 hours community centre).
That's all done now, but as of this coming Monday I'm back at Public Works to start my 6 month contract doing the cleaning job again. So doing the 10 hour shifts, 4 days on, 4 days off like last summer.
I'm planning on scheduling more posts to make sure I don't miss any days and to hopefully keep me on top of comments (which I'm already not). Expect a weeklong theme starting Monday and then we'll take it from there.
Okay. Going to catch up on at least a few comments before bed tonight.
I guessed you'd been busy, but not quite as busy as this! I also thought you were already scheduling posts, so I guess I got that wrong :) I hope it's been fun work, and not boring, or draining. And I hope that the Public Works job is similar to last year, but with less dead fish and lobster broils.
It's mostly official now, so I can say that all the work I've been doing lately isn't going to decrease: I've been asked to take on the role of CEO of a company in Malta, so I fly back to Kiev for a week tomorrow and then move back to Malta. I'm still connected to the old company, in that the new one is owned by them, but this is a promotion and had the bonus effect of making my intent to be CPO (Chief Product Officer) somewhere later on much, much easier. I should be able to post daily again after Sunday though as I won't be trying to manage things in multiple location so much :)
I will get to Empires as well, but I don't want to rush that!
Unlucky
"I bought a lucky rabbit's foot from a gypsy last night, Vince."
"We're supposed to call them travellers now, Dave, they don't like the G-word. Funny though, I bought an unlucky rabbit from one of them last night too. Poor thing had somehow lost all its feet."
Greg - um, I was supposed to be scheduling posts. I... was not. Very often, anyway. Going back to this schedule should force me into it though. Hopefully?
Wow! Congrats on the new gig! I hope it's a good fit for you :D
Ah, always good to hear from Dave and Vince :)
