I think I have enough time to get this to the right place to finish; if I'm wrong then the last verse will either be longer than four lines, or we'll have a couple of random four-line poems to round out the year :)
Manifestations As my desiccated body relaxes, soaking up the water, The boy who found me on the Al-Amrit manifests beside me. His eyes are black like a deep-sea fish, his teeth are pointed And his tongue is blue and worm-like in his mouth.

Manifestations
As my desiccated body relaxes, soaking up the water,
The boy who found me on the Al-Amrit manifests beside me.
His eyes are black like a deep-sea fish, his teeth are pointed
And his tongue is blue and worm-like in his mouth.
Greg - that sounds perfectly fine to me. As always, if there's a timely prompt that would assist in your efforts, do let me know.
Well, that's not an especially pleasant manifestation... not that I was expecting otherwise. But this seems like bad news for your narrator.
Which, I mean, yeah okay, that's on brand for this tale.
