The exercise:
Write a four line poem about something that is: intransigent.
It had to end eventually. This v-less prompt inspired by its use in Cabinet Battle #1.
Cold, wet, and windy day here. Not much fun, but the forecast seems to think it was just for today and that the next week should see sunshine and reasonable temperatures.
Fingers crossed they're right.
Mine:
Arguing with you
Is like fighting a wall;
There is no winning -
You're so thick you can't fall.

I'm slightly saddened to see the v-words finish their prompt run, but it was good while it lasted! And I'm glad you caught the Timewarp line two days ago, I wasn't sure if I'd made it too subtle or not.
The weather sounds good to me! I'm in London briefly while I sort out the Visa for re-entry to Ukraine and I'm slightly surprised to find that it's warmer here at the moment that it was there. I believe I'm technically further north than Kiev at the moment, so it must be the Gulf Stream that's warming everything up here.
Ah, I really, really like your last line. A wonderful summary of the situation, and the kind of thing there's no comeback to! Great work :)
Intransigent
This gent met a lady, she was nice, she had a cat,
He wooed her with flowers, with candles and his flat.
He told her he loved her; she said the romance he meant
Was never to be, and she was intransigent.
I missed the bit of the prompt that said '4 lines', so here we go.
I won't get up!
No, I won't!
Time for school, you say
Really, I'm not going!
As the clock ticks on,
No, I won't change my mind
Shift my ideas, or move
Into a different point of view
Go without me if you must
Except, oh dear, today's the field trip to the
New museum
Time to get up, no time to lose!
Greg - I hope your brief return to London treats you well!
And thank you :)
I am impressed that you managed to rhyme intransigent. Also: I really, really like your first two lines.
Morganna - hah, no worries :)
I can't believe you managed to use intransigent as an acronym. I mean, I shouldn't be surprised, but I am. And the three lines starting at 'No, I won't change my mind' are the highlight of this for me. Nice work!
