I am curious to know if Warlord is somehow connected with your volunteering at the learning centre. I have visions of you being banned from helping out now, having conscripted all the children and led a crusade....
I'm a little short on time this morning so we'll have to step aside from the main story for a day.
Warlord Water pools, beneath trees, in ruts, under bodies. An army, or what's left of it, Rots away as rain peters out and skies clear at last. Light-fingered scavengers dart about like blackened Ortolans sipping nectar from battlefield flowers, and Rufus, Warlord of Anteigne walks amongst the Dead, kicking them and hoping for signs of life.
Greg - hah, I suppose that would be one way to not get asked back...
And yeah, I wasn't sure if this prompt would fit in with your story, so I guess the timing worked out!
That's a fantastic acrostic, that I didn't even realize was an acrostic until my second time through. Love the descriptions, and the final two lines are so, so good.
