Heh, very oddly that works surprisingly well with what I'm doing for the last verse as well, so I'm quite happy about it. Nothing Christmassy about this, but that would be odd given there's been little hint of seasons in the rest of the poem (except maybe the bats and birds being active, which might suggest late summer?).
It was on a starry night “Do you remember when Spud fell from Kittering’s Vigil? Like a meteorite crashing to earth?” Red smiles; “It was on a starry night, alright,” he says. “Two weeks ago. Do you have amnesia?”
Greg - yeah, I didn't think there had been any mention of snow or cold so I didn't want to go with anything too directly linked to Christmas. I'm glad this one worked out!
Ah, two weeks later, with our heroes safe and sound and victorious. I'm hoping the amnesia reference is a joke though...
