Yes, it's sad. I quite like the joke that quickly circulated: she met Liz Truss (the new UK PM) and decided to die rather than see what happened next, although I slightly prefer to think that she was waiting to see Boris Johnson gone before she stopped looking after the country. And so I have transitioned from being an Elizabethan to a Charlotte... I'm not entirely sure I like that. (I would also have quite liked Charles to have chosen to use one of his other names and become King Arthur, though that would probably have created a lot of media fuss.)
Well, something fitting... this isn't really my strong point I'm afraid.
The queen She sets the crown down And her head raises, just a little. As though some great weight has finally lifted From her neck. She rubs it, Stretches, And seems twenty years younger. She smiles and you see the girl she used to be. Then she picks the crown back up, Seats it carefully in place And returns to embodying the country that she loves.

And her head raises, just a little.
As though some great weight has finally lifted
From her neck. She rubs it,
Stretches,
And seems twenty years younger.

Seats it carefully in place

Greg - I think he would have won over some portion of the population had he gone with King Arthur (me included), but I do understand why he didn't.
Well it may not be a strong point for you, but you certainly managed rather magnificently. Well done, old chap.
(I'm sorry. I couldn't stop my fingers from typing those last two words and now I can't seem to bring myself to delete them...)
