I am lost as to why you think Clarissa would be quiet. Do I have any quiet heroines? :-p

The quiet queen
"Is it true that you can just walk into the museum and claim Arthur's Ring whenever you want?" Godfric finally sat down again and Clarissa smiled a little at him. Not too much, as she really wanted him to drop this, but enough for someone she had to work with every day.
"Sort of," she said. "There'd be checks and paperwork to fill out, and there's probably some stuff I don't know about. Probably some insurance I'd need to take out as well, although I'm not sure how that would work."
"Quite, quite," said Godfric. He mused for a moment, his chin resting on his chest as he appeared to literally contemplate his navel. "Wow, Arthur's heir. In my office! That makes you a queen, right?"
"My office," said Clarissa automatically. It was, technically, the police department's office but they'd been verbally squabbling over ownership since three days after moving in to it together. "And only on the quiet; no-one wants a new queen turning up and disputing the rule of the country."
Godfric opened his mouth, probably to continue the debate, and then a new thought seemed to strike him as he lifted his head sharply and his eyes brightened. "Wait! You sneezed when you came in here and said it was because of your allergy. There's necromancy been going on in this office?"
"Is that grammatical?" asked Clarissa. She waved a hand before he could answer. "Not in here no, somewhere outside in the corridors though. I must have walked through it." Her voice slowed as she reached the end of her sentence and when she looked up Godfric was watching her eagerly. "Which is odd," she continued. "As I came in from the Garden entrance, and there are no interview rooms along that route."
The Garden was the rear of the police station where, prior to it being a police station, there had been a large private garden with a vegetable garden, a herb garden and a pleasure garden dotted with trees and rare flowers. The vegetable garden and herb garden were maintained still and used for the police station's kitchens while the pleasure garden was now used by the dog-handlers for walkies and training.
"Not just odd, wrong!" Godfric was back on his feet. "Come on, let's go pinpoint it before it fades completely. This could be a crime! Inside a police station!"
"You make it sound like that's unusual," said Clarissa. "I've just taken my shoes off."
"You don't need shoes, it's not raining out."
"I can't walk around the office in my socks!"
"Why not? You're a queen, aren't you? Anyway, Paul does it all the time." Paul was the desk sergeant who rarely left the office and wore garish socks because of the comments he got from not wearing shoes. He'd apparently decided that if people were going to talk about his footwear they may as well have something to talk about.
"I'm not Paul."

Greg - pretty sure I was struggling to come up with a prompt on this night. I think this was vaguely meant to refer to the current monarch.

Extremely pleased to see you've continued this without my prompting. It even seems like there will be more to follow this entry, which has me wanting to catch up on comments even more quickly that I already did.
