I'm a little late with this, but yesterday turned out to be one of those days where there was never a lot of free time for anything. Still, I got here in the end!
Music She pauses at the door Where the light meets the night and the shadows Coalesce and the doorman takes her coat And she murmurs "Bless," And it's a benediction, of sorts.
"Madame Melody!" The music stops Abruptly so she may be announced. All heads turn and mouths fall open And she descends the stairs, quick, quick, slow, then She's standing by the side Of the guest of honour for tonight.
They share a look of puzzlement and The band starts up another cha-cha Almost (but not quite) obscuring the moment that the fracture Starts and divides the two. Music sings from out the void And Azathoth is summoned.
She pauses at the void Where the light bleeds into night and the shadows Roil hungrily devouring the doorman And she murmurs "Bless," Because there's nothing else to do, And then she steps on through.

Music
She pauses at the door
Where the light meets the night and the shadows
Coalesce and the doorman takes her coat
And she murmurs "Bless,"
And it's a benediction, of sorts.

Of the guest of honour for tonight.

Greg - I quite understand days like that, I assure you. So no worries at all, glad you managed to get here when you did!
The contrast between the first and last stanza is fantastic. Bravo, sir. Bravo.
