As Theresa leaned to the board to get a better look Claire's hand gently reached out and restrained her. "I would hate for anyone to accuse you of cheating when you're so close to winning the whole competition," said her partner, making Margaret and Theresa both stare at him. Clearly that was what Claire should have said, but... upon looking back at Claire Theresa suddenly noticed that the woman seemed oddly pale and was sweating. "Now," said her partner sweetly, and Claire's hand returned to her lap, "I think it's South to play, right?"
